Competitor Information

The major objective of this annual celebration of the classical driving sport continues to be providing driving enthusiasts with the opportunity to advance the traditional driving arts for the improvement of the sport and for the promotion of the public interest in the contributions made by the horse and carriage to our cultural, economic, and social history. Although the competition always proves to be spirited and challenging, our goal remains that of bringing together those of us who enjoy exhibiting our horses and carriages in a congenial atmosphere for a week of sporting pleasure.

Our Walnut Hill Farm 2017 schedule presented traditional driving sports for all members of the family in classes which have proven popular in the sport. In addition to the traditional Turnout, Reinsmanship, Cross-Country, and Obstacle Driving Divisions, we are pleased to offer divisions and classes for Bonneted Phaetons, Ladies Phaetons, Pony and Horse Road Coaches/Park Drags, Juniors, VSE, Attendant Class, Carriage Dog Class, Fancy Dress Class, Gig Class, Old Guard Class, Ride and Drive Class, and Scurry Classes.

Our very special Presentation Pleasure Drive was held through Mendon Ponds Park on Sunday morning. Special exhibitions where held throughout the week in addition to our regular schedule of classes. Championship and Commemorative Ribbons are presented during the Parade of Champions on Sunday afternoon, with a group photograph of all Walnut Hill Farm Champions.

We encourage you to become thoroughly familiar with the Rules, Regulations, and Class Conditions. Your understanding of the conditions of the Competition will provide you with a more enjoyable experience.
